I love the geometric potential for the simple 5 point star. In these two designs I have created a 3d version that combines five of each star. One design has the plain simple border star and the second design includes a star border cut into it.  Both have a suspended, spinning smaller star in the center.  These can easily be cut from 12 x 12 card stock  and because the technique doubles all sides, it is durable enough to be a centerpiece for a 4th of July picnic. Or they can be hung in groupings for an impressive mobile.  The field can easily be re-sized to create a variety of stars.
